In my experience, and specially in Jordan, I guess that the education system can get you only far enough, but a real life experience, even if for a short time, in a certain field, can be a more realistic experience which would add solid qualifications and knowledge.
A college degree is essential for the shortlisting process of hiring. Professional experience on the other hand is the real deal maker or breaker meant for selection!
The most important thing is "theory in practice". Education it is just the good introduction to understand the world around us, knowledge of terms and rules. If you start your first job or better create your own business you will see that theory doesn't equal reality (e.g. The customer needs and expectations are the most important, they are not fixed and the competition is not sleeping. Learning how to properly manage customer relationship is operation on a living organism, it is impossible to learn this by heart.)At the end I can only say that the best training materials are always based on real life examples and real solutions.
In western world seasoned professionals are more favorite than degree holders. Say for example- a quick book expert is more proficient than a bookkepper Accountant holded Graduation or Masters in Accounting. But in overall cases in corporate environment Graduation or Masters for planing and managerial decission making is ideal. Seasoned professional a like a tecnician. See an infant babies still out of education may use andriod or iPhone more quicker than me... but don't know the A B C B 123 .....that's not a magic... so far... alike.
Neither are more important, both can play an important role, An aptitude for working out problems comes from a certain level of common sense, people either have it or they don't you cannot teach that, it's a generic thing
Graduates with work experience are more attractive than those without .I am a Master of Business Administrator candidate who posses more than 6 years of work experience in sales and marketing fields . Professional experience will make you much more stronger enough to build your careers in a desired direction .
Honestly, both.
I have more than 9 years experience and suddenly found out that a professional qualification like ACCA or CFA is inevitable to shake the shackles.
