I feel Team Spirit & participation is more important than personal creativity.
History has shown the organization with better cohesiveness proved to be more successful than the one which runs on single person ideology.
Also, if we have a better team spirit & participation it only helps us in increasing our personal creativity because we can have various angles & direction to think on any problem.

Why is it an either or situation? Team spirit is nice but without creativity (which I presume that person was hired for) then its kind of a moot point.
There are many creatives who are Manic Depressives (or Bipolar) and that means that part of their creativity comes from them being relatively anti social or...
at the least snarky and poor team players.
As someone who has been and seen his share of moody creative behavior I think the more mature a person is the more he is able to work with a team.
The better he /she is at assessing the talents of the group of people she is with and the better s/he can direct them toward reaching a unified and satisfactory goal.
I would not hire someone who is the best creative in the world but unable to work with a team because that would mean that my creative department cannot learn from them and so cannot grow and what is the point of that pray tell?

Personal creativity is worthless if it can't benefit the team. All the creative agency in the world work in Teams. Because everybody can and should contribute to an idea. If the Idea is good The whole Team can add into it.
