Often, uninsured motorist coverage from your car insurance company covers hit and run accidents: Uninsured motorist bodily injury (UMBI) coverage pays for medical expenses. Uninsured motorist property damage (UMPD) covers car repairs.

Whether you pay a deductible for a hit-and-run insurance claim depends on the circumstances of the accident and the type of car insurance coverage you have. If you're injured in a hit-and-run, you might make a claim on your uninsured motorist bodily injury coverage. You won't pay a deductible on that coverage.

Depending on your insurance policy and what is its statement.

If you have a third party coverage, that mean your car is not covered, rather if someone else involved.

If you have a full coverage, that cover your car and any other car. if it's your fault.

Read the policy, there should be something about it.
