What things that must i do to be professional on Fiber optics engineering?

For me the things that I must do to come professional on Fiber Optics engineering are having involved on the fields of fiber optics installation, how to read and analyzed network structure design and also how to identify and resolve some kind of fiber optic troubleshooting.  

you should observe real world testing (OTDR, Power, Meter source meter, VFL, and CD/PMD ) and installation of different optical fiber installations and troubleshooting, while if you need in-depth knowledge you should get RCDD certificate. 

The things that I must do to become professional in fiber optics engineering is by attending seminars as well as training for optical fiber technology..

Enroll in a university,  get a diploma and be certified.
