Participative learning is the best way to tackle this challenge and make the balance between discipline and information transfer.
1. First impression is the last impression of any faculty class.2. Faculty should be prepared very weill for answering all questions by the students in connection with his subject.3. Faculty can be present the topic objective with it's application.4. In such a way that simply we can bring all students concentration to our lecture devilering.
Discipline has always been topic issue. Discipline is word made of DISCO (latin ''I learn'') and PLENUS (latin ''full'') and it can be understood as moment when your pupils have something new to learn and do. If they don't have new challenge and new target, they will not be ''disciplined'' and you as a teacher could be disturbed. When you are focused only on your subject and your willing of saying all you wanna say to your pupils and not on new approaches in teaching, than you would be discontent and you wont have enough time for do all that is expected.
Information transfer is the old teaching paradigm and its meant by the fact that teacher is the only source of information and he is transferring all the knowledge. Nowadays its more expectable to apply Transactional Teaching paradigm where pupils are active members in learning process and that knowledge they learn can be applied in very recent moment. Pupils and teachers have to learn together and in mutual relation, so in that way they will always create discipline and active interaction based on silent dialogue in pairs or bigger groups and gain exact and measurable results.
In order to transfer knowledge and to make a kind of balance we supposed to teach in a way that all those different students with different mental capacities could grasp or comprehend at the same time and it is better to divide them into groups.
At last but not least, identify their needs then design the course accordingly.
with the aid of presentations prepared we can convey more easily to the students. Form groups among them , each group should be given certain activities which makes them involve while teaching.
Group activities, using the proper material for each type of activity is the most effective way to manage large classes. we must make the groups variable as musch as possible to ehence the different types of skills and modes
every child is diffrent and special in tehre own way.
the best a supervisor can do is to know there learning modes..(sanquines, intoverts, auditory melancolics).
this will enable the teacher difrently, freindlier and easier.
Acually teaching is an art rather than science with fixed formullas for every aspect of a teacher's performance. The situration you have forwarded would be tackled using technology and managerial skills. There should be visual and listening equipments to fully attract all students sitting in every angle a large classroom. This to transfer information and regarding decipline implementation we can establish proper contact with each student walking among them and communicating randomly students of different locations (Actually attracting students normally prevents improper and irrelevant activities by them). For very activity we should determine marks and donot leave all marks for the exams. It makes students to keep full attention at every moment of the class, meanwhile improper actions would have negative marks. Having communication with all students and changing thier location in different classrooms also can control them. Giving assignments with presentation is another way to keep them focussed and attended to the class and teacher.
I used to teach 14. 19, even 70 students - no problem, as you have to be precose, strict but humorous, direct but entertaining, never boring or angry
All the students need to divided in different groups as per their levels and interest.
Instead of using the old Blackboard method of teaching,it need to use some audio and video modes of teaching.
For technical subjects softwares(like matlab/pspice) can also be used in teaching.
There can be different ways to handle the issue of large classes, for example, 1.dividing class into different groups and giving roles to group members
2.assign different work as per their level and make them accountable
3.using A.V aids(audiovisual) and assign projects to engage the students.
