Do you agree that professional human resource managers MUST study any psychology?

studying psychology in my opinion has always been essential with professions that deal with people (such as HR, customer service etc) so I am interested in hearing everyone else's opinion.

Yes, I think HR practitioner must study psychology in one way or another.  Psychology is the study of human mind and behaviors and by studying psychology will surely help them use it in dealing with different people and cultures.  They will be able to understand more clearly the needs of the employees and help them to grow professionally and increase their performance.

It depends on the industry, I don't believe that this is a requirement for a HR Manager that is based in the field in a remote location. It's common sense to have a level of sympathy or empathy in any situation in the working world.
