More than 77% Internet users toward Goole for search. It's why all SEO Experts are more focusing on Google.
Other factors are Geographical location. The China, Japan, Russia, South Korea these Countries are most using their own Search Engine or some think like Qihoo, Yandex, Yahoo Japan, Naver etc..
As far as I am Concerned, It's why almost all the SEO focusing on Google Search Engine.
Over 70% of the searches take place on google and the rest of the share is shared by the other search engines this is why most of the focus is on Google only.
It is considered to be better to be on the 4th page of google search than to be on the first page of Bing. :)

About 65%of all desktop and 90 % of all mobile+tablet searches happen on Google and the balance is shared mainly between Bing, Yahoo and Baidu (Chinese search engine). the balance 35% or 10% cannot be ignored.
based on where the business is and from where traffic is flowing into your site you should optimize.
Though Google optimization would take of Bing and Yahoo partially it will not be properly optimized.
Hence, Even if you spend most of your resources for Google optimization do carve out some for Bing and Yahoo.
In short SEO professionals should optimize for the search engine their target audience uses and not all are in google.
