You'd find most of literature graduates in love with Russian literature. I admire Dostoyevsky a lot! He writes with such insight into the human nature that is excruciatingly genius. One of my favorite novels for him is The Gambler, which I strongly recommend.

My favorite Russian is Anton Chekhov, he has an amazing collection of short stories whose characters are extremely unique and funny.

I have not come across so much of Russian Litarature except some famous ones such as Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karnina and War and Peace. I studied lots of old lkegends and myths of Russian Literature many of which are anonymous. However, I feel Leo Tolstoy is the greatest of Russian authors ever.

American and British liteature, but no Russian liteature for me, except i read a number of Arabic translated short stories by Leo Tolstoy, some translated to simplified English i guess. From what I knew about human nature, liteature is something produced by humans with soft nature, and Russians , execuse my observation, are mostly rigid and rough, that's why it's hard for the Russian character to produce, at least the common type of liteature.  I find it rather interesting to ask this question, very seriously, Do people feel love, there in Russia?sorry, but I just can't imagine.
