We Are Social Primates With Technology
Our brains are hard wired (psychopaths are an exception) to respond positively to social rewards i.e. praise from a group. It helps create and maintain group cohesion, which is essential to the survival the individuals.
Normally this type of reward mechanism takes place face to face.
However with the advent of social media, this medium is slowly being replaced. It won't be entirely replaced but yes it has taken over.

The biggest lie Lucifer had made it Is that the person depends on the assessment of himself on the opinion of the people Is the entrance to the failure of mental illness and hatred
In my personal opinion and has non scientific relationship
Seeing notifications of a like, message or a request releases dopamine on the brain; its a good, addictive feeling for a person therefore he wants more and his self-esteem increases that way due to an illusion that he did something worthwhile.
Nowadays, its not really a social world offline therefore, the virtual image is of a higher value to most and the more comments, likes and requests the better the image.
when you have low self-esteem and usally lack a purpose, thats exactly when you allow these situations to effect your selfesteem. it is nice to receive compliments, online or otherwise, but its not a good thing to base one’s self-esteem on them,
because it shows how much you'r famous and accepted to people who they follow, like and comments on your posts and twits.
We are living in a materialistic world
Most of the people are suffering in silence
they feel lonely
true friends are rarely
social media should be used for more communication but people become more isolated
taking into consideration that the trend now is showing off
unfortunately we are becoming more shallow
