Obviously no one can predict what will happen in a year or even a day from the moment I am writing or you are reading this answer; nonetheless it sounds as if AI is here to stay and will keep evolving to learn and mimic human behavior just like what we see in sci-fi movies. And this won’t be fiction anymore.
AI can be defined as the simulation of human intelligence by machine and computer systems. The way it works is based on learning through sophisticated algorithm which are designed to learn and adapt. And since we, as humans, are continually forming new neural networks where our "intelligence" is to be stored, AI is doing the same, relying on financial backup and highly skilled developers to feed and grow the algorithm neural system.
Now for the marketer, and looking at how much big guys like Apple, Google, Amazon are investing in this new technologies it somehow could trigger an alarm to alert not only marketers but many other professionals in the distribution, sales and marketing business.
Simply put, all marketing process that require planning, collecting, analyzing of rather large datasets will be automated; more over, I think we will see the disappearance of gut feelings or intuition, the mark of genius marketers, since there will be very little room left for errors. This in part because the amount of data is becoming overwhelming and business pace extremely fast.
So with the disappearance of a species there is evolution. The marketer will then evolve to use and feed the system and act upon the system’s response to stimulus. Welcome to the future!
Thank you for invitation. I agree with colleagues answer, also looking forward to new answer.
