If we doing concrete of a pier height 6m. what is the reason if honeycombing occur?

It is the fall of the concrete which will provoke the segregation of the components, so it is preferable to take precautions for this type of activity, for example to provide an addition hose in such  way to decrease the height of the fall (should not exceed 1.5 m) , also to ensuring  the waterproof of the  formwork to avoid the loss of laitance .

Honey Combing is due to non-reaching of concrete to all places due to which cavities and hallow pockets are created. Main reasons for it are:-1. Improper vibration during concrete.2. Less covers to reinforcement bars.3. Use of very stif concrete.4. Places like junctions of beam to column and to one are more beams are typical spots where honey comb occurs.5. Presence of more percentage of larger size aggregates in concrete also prevent concrete to fill narrow spaces between bars.
