Executive summary of a report or proposal preferably be limited to one page only. Do you agree with this statement? if so, why?

one page or less because it is a summary for a detailed report its function to Persuade us to continue reading

Totally agree, as long as it is a "Summery Report / proposal", and I do prefer to use a very short sentences and expressions, confirmed by graphics or diagrams to evidence, convince and be more easy in reading by whom the report is presented, in addition to focus on the outline facts.   

IF THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY IS ONE PAGE THE READER OF THE REPORT CAN CAPTURE THE WHOLE INFORMATION NEEDED FROM THAT SINGLE SHEET  OF THE SUMMARY.

Yes, fully agree, such reports should summarizing all performance,achievements,targets,feedback in few lines, and such reports should contains diagrams,and charts too, in order to summarize words into readable numbers
