An atom is the smallest particle of matter which can not divide further ,till retain the property of matter. when an atom lose or gain one election and the charge com on them .the ion with negative charge is called anion and the ion with positive charge is called cation .

atom is the smallest part of matter which have electron proton and neutron .when an atom lose or gain electron the become ion ,if they gain electron they become negatively charge which is called anion and when they lose electron they become positively charged and called cation .
