First they have to make sure the machine already shut off and secure the power button (LogOut Tag Out Procedure)
Make sure all the production materials are saved to prevent possible contamination. And than find the information about the downtime and how long to fixed it. Make sure that they still able to catch the daily production target. Before machine start after maintenance, they have to check the machine and materials are good to go.
Record the downtime properly and Report to Production Manager about the downtime
A breakdown usually requires the presence of the operators. This will shorten the trouble shooting as he is the last guy handled the machine before the breakdown. It is recommended he must be with the technician to ease the repair and help whatever he can.
Other personnel (if a manufacturing line) should clean their respective areas and organized things around them so that when operation resumes, everything restarts normally.
It depends on the size of downtime if it's a short period we could request the staff to take their lunch or break first so later on we could be full functional. If it's long period we have to regroup the staff to another department so that they still can be productive for the company.
