If you were being payed very well in either case, would you rather work as a freelancer in your field or have a 9 to 5 desk job at a company?

If I was to choose between 9-5 job and being a freelancer, I would definitely choose the 2nd option.

I love being part of a team and working with other people, but the freelancing job would give me more flexibility to pursue my hobbies. 9-5 job doesn't necessarily mean that we will fulfill all of our obligations but it's a concept that has been designed to control us as employees, so I don't necessarily agree with that.

The concept- work longer hours, you will achieve more- it's totally incorrect.

Some countries ( like UAE) doesn't seem to understand that rested employee is more efficient than the one working 6 days...

I believe it depends on the individual. Some people prosper under vigilance and guidance; whereas some feel freedom under no accountability.

Other factor being, Experience. After some years of experience, one can easily understand the demands and wants of the market and then can switch over to becoming a freelancer.

However, if you feel confident and comfortable enough, freelancing is the way to go and possibly the trend of the coming future.

I would like to work with a  multinational or a domestic company or an organization instead of working as freelancer. Because primarily, working with a team with the same passion and goals can make better outcome for the company, it will also promote personal and career growth since you'll be able share different inputs and ideas, secondly the experience earned from the companies has more values as compared to being a freelancer

As these are initial days in my career i would get opportunity to learn and grow with a multinational company and put in practice the new concepts of marketing which i wouldn't be able to if a start as a free lancer.

Freelancer, specially when you are a strategic person and have a creative mind.

We all know that no one works for the whole 8 hours, it's 4 - 5 at max of productive hours, but you have to stay at work for the whole 8. As a freelancer, once your done your gone to the next thing in your life.

My opinion is that the beginning of ones career is always a 9-5 (5 days a week) as this teaches the employee to participate in team work with different cultures, style, discipline, accuracy, deliverance on time and a lot more. However, as time goes by 10-15 years down your career graph it gets monotonous and one feels the thirst for self actualization and that is when would come out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves to do something different. Free lancing if done in a methodical manner with the adopted disciplined style of a 9-5 job is a success. the negative side of it is that a human can go into a lazy laid back zone UNLESS one is strong willed and focused. I would personally love a 9-5 coz there is a  lot to give to those around and also to learn from the new generation. Free lancing can be a hobby or passion to measure how well I can perform standing by myself.
