Describe the major similarities and differences between domestic and global logistics ?

Domestic Logistics is the delivery shipment into LOCAL market which includes documentation and transport.

Whereas Global Logistics includes Import, export or cross trade shipment all over the regions which might be air, sea or land shipments.

I would say that the similarities are based on the structure of the country.  If you are in a developing country then you would see that the logistical infrastructure differs than it is another country.  You might have trains here yet you do not have any there due to the country it-self,  Similarities are like air-logistics (Planes), air cargo, 

This country might be able to use sea-logistics as it is on a sea side yet the other cannot and so on.
