Any software in the world can create a logo!

Studio Max can create a logo, Cinema4D can create a logo, Lightwave can create a logo, even CorelDraw, Ilustrator, and some cheap ready make filled with royality free icons/shapes such as Logo Maker, Logo YES, or any of the other mentioned ones in Tala's post.

The question is: Are you looking to produce a ready made logo bundled with a software that millions of people use it? Or you are a graphic designer with your own creative ideas/inspirations and want to put them on a layout/concept, print them later in or outdoor, publish your logos/designs on office materials and large format?

If you are not a professional designer with creativity and own imspiration, then you can go with any of the ready made bundles software mentioned above.

If you are a graphic professional, then use Illustrator by Adobe or CorelDraw by Corel, Inc., unless you want to make something super3D; in that case use any of the mentioned three in my post's first line

The best hardware to create logos is your brain and the best software your professional knowledge.

In other order of things, one should know that in any logo and any concept always exist the need to create pieces with vectors.

Therefore, If the professional Graphic Designer knows this:  that Vector Graphics always are most technical than others kind. So He will choose a Vector software.

And, which one is the best? How can I make a good choise? Easy, be comercial in your activity and select the software that everybody works in their  companies.

Theoretically any software could create a logo, even hand-drawn, depending on what type of logo do you need. But usually the best logo-software are vector softwares ("Adobe Illustrator" being the most relied software from this category) since they allow future changes and especially because they remain in Hi-Res (Vector images does not get blurred or pixelated no matter how much you zoom in).

I will recommend Illustrator but before making a logo you do some paperwork. It will lesser your time.
