What are the duties of a Safety Officer in Construction Project?

1. To ensure all safety procedures and guidelines requirements are strictly followed and implemented.

2. ALL PPEs for all the project team and personnel are always available at site and in good working order.

3. Ensure all rescues facility are available at site and fire fighting equipments are valid and in good working order.

4. Trained and competent emergency response team are adequately available on standby for any emergency call and situations.

Following can be called as duties of a Safety Officer :

1. Understand and Have knowledge about the area of his/her control.
2. Knowledge about workers' base e.g. Total number of employees including workers, supervisors amd managers etc.
3. Performing/arranging tool box talks and trainings relating to safety related general issues e.g PPE Usage, weather conditions etc. and also after if in case there are some near near misss or incidents.
4. Performing / Coordinating the Emergency Drills at project.
5. Coordinating/Facilitating the Civil Defense or other legal authorities visits and also visilts by clients.
6. Performing / Coordinating the Incident Investigation for Incidents on-site.
7. Keeping a track and records of injuries and incidents on-site for legal compliance and client's requirements and its presentation to same as required.
8. Keeping records of up-to date of MSDS of Hazardous Chemicals being used at site.
9. Ensuring the availability of General First Aid Facilities, Fire Extinguishers and PPE at site.
