Let me put my thoughts as below 

 QA -Quality Assurance 

QC -Quality Control 

Software is product on which the test procedure needs to applied in which we need to understand the level of detection for the fault and the process control when making the software .According to me the QC techniques should be used to check the sofatware etsting

 

QA is Quality assurance and works on sampling plan when the process is strong and for exalple used the PPAP process used to qualify the process for the production then we can apply the QA techniquies in final testing of the products

 

In some of Industries even when the process are full robust still the QC techniques are used  for sampling plan with 100% quality control to qualify the products due to complexity of the compaonets assemblies and used in specific industries , eg Aerospsace,Railways ,Defence,Space ,neuclear etc
