What would you tell a client that thinks they can run their own social media page without the help of a third-party or an agency?

Now a days has achieved a position, we could not deny the this.

Social media is the best source for advertising and promotion of a product in the market.

In my experience its better to discuss things with the client in a little more detail. Does the client have adequate experience or resources to do the work him/herself? Consider an example of a car, just because you may know how to change the oil and water does not mean you should necessarily be able to work on the engine. In my dealings a lot of people think that business social media is the same as personal social media - while the platforms are the same, the mechanics are very different, so just because you can post something on your time line in Facebook doesn't qualify you to run that platform for the business, otherwise with over a Billion users everyone would be considered  Social Media experts but that is not the case.

If the requirement is minimal or if the business in question is not heavily influenced by Social Media and the role of Social Media Marketing is minimal, ask the client if he/she thinks they are comfortable with running it as a business, if they are, that is their decision to make.

However, if it is a big client that does not have an in house team and that business in question requires the heavy use of Social Media platforms for user interactions or promotions, then what you can do is make a case study for that client where you can explain the benefits of hiring you/your firm to get this job done.

To make this decision easier try to put yourself in the client's shoes and think about what would be best for the client, is it something the client can handle? if not, then present a case study so that you can have an easier client to convince the client for their business.

Good Luck :)

Creating a good social media foundation takes knowledge and persistence. Many companies want to save a little money on marketing and start out doing their social media themselves, but they quickly stop being consistent. And being consistent is one of the most important things on building a solid social media presence. Just like most companies outsource their cleaning, their lunch and kitchen arrangements - because these are areas so different from their own business, they should outsource social media management as well.

It's better to keep social media marketing inside the company at first, because nobody knows the firms visions and products better than the people who work for the company. But if there no time, og they have know idea how to, then getting a 3rd party might be a good idea.

If the company do have the qualified staff then it is better to invest in them than a third party whom may not have the required deep knowledge and experience in the company's products and services, unless they the company do need the third party as a promoter and to hire an experienced problem solver to be their officer at the third party then it will save money and be more efficient

At first we have to make in our self the meaning of social, its a way to get socialize with your audience, community. But the question is how, so my advise to small business owner is to maintain the personalisation with your audience. Don't things of your audience as a source of income or your customer treat to them as your own part of your family.

Provide what your audience want to know not what you want to sell, people don't like to get buy unless it imprint good thought of you. Don't pitch just try solve your client problems through your services.

You always have to be ready to help.

And this is the key to success, if this does't work come to me and I will manage the social account for free.

Many companies already do that. I always advise clients to keep their social media in-house because people who work FOR the company know more about their products and services. Unless the client has no idea about how to promote his/her company on social media only then I would suggest using a 3rd party. Many a times, with our clients, we offer to set up and start their social media presence and then train someone from their staff to handle it. We, however, offer them advice as and when required for special campaigns.
