I think the biggest Challenge for the engineers in the future that will not available real job opportunities as per their specialties as the Engineering consciousness will develop and change rapidly for some professions and specialties and asking for high Skills and distinguished Characteristics.

While there is business in that thought, and equity in the distribution of resources aside, the survival of our future generations would depend on engineers designing and manufacturing smarter and greener with a fraction of what we use now.
