To enhance the motivation the students should be exposed to the language and given more opportunities to use the language in their daily life in addition to the classroom activities.
The best motivation is to make them believe that they are going to become famous and rich after having a proficient English skill. Most of them do not take it serious when talk about being rich or financial gain but you need to match your level to tell them that they are special like celebrities and a celebrity must show that they are different. I praise them a lot and found out a positive correlation between praise and motivation to learn English. It works when i praise them and make them feel that they are different this is why they should behave as a notable person and they start improving and taking interest by giving more time and energy.
The best motivation for students is to find a way to incorporate English somehow in their entertainment and or daily lives. I believe that exposure to a language is the best way to build a vocabulary. About private courses, the best way is online: for example through Skype. It will allow for a very interactive private lesson and engaging teaching experience
To motivate the students from learning the English language, we can start by letting them know the significance of learning the language by showing them how the English language serves a major role in communication. If one is to teach a private course, a teacher should assess the knowledge of the student regarding the subject. Until then, the teacher will give the right course to the student. The student may be given certain modules from the teacher. The teacher can decide whether he/she will teach the modules by session, by week, etc. It could be a one-on-one session through online (Skype, etc.) or it could be in person. But personally, I prefer to teach students in person.
We can motivate students by telling them how essential the language is especially if they aspire to work in foreign countries. As for techniques i think it depends eg i was able to start understanding by watching cartoons as a kid but for older students i would say encouraging them to read novels and watch movies or documentaries can help.I do not know if i understood your third question but i think if its a one on one lesson with a student you can even do it more as a friend rather than a tutor so that they become comfortable enough to ask any questions they might have.
He should know the importance of The language, participate in discussion with his teacher and friends . We can create an opportunity to talk to tourists
