These two things are not mutually exclusive ;)

I've heard many people (me included) say that being a normal, healthy, decent human being is all it takes to be a good boss.

But to go back to your question, a good boss understands, appreciates and admits that his performance is the sum of his people's performances. When you know and understand that, you will undoubtedly be motivated to hire people who are better than you or have potential to be excellent employees, as the sum of your team will grow as the team quality grows. You will also be inclined to nurture, motivate and groom your team - you will understand that your role is that of an enabler. You are there to enable them to give their best performance.

Hope this helps ;)

A good boss or rather a good leader is one who leads by example. He / She surrounds him/herself with excellent team members - not necessarily smarter, but those with passion and commitment.

A good and successful boss, is mostly someone who has the ability to orchestrate all of his or her staff qualities to benefit the whole company . Since no IQ tests are given in a working environment and neither EQ tests , the only need for a good boss is at the end of the day to have productive and loyal people working under him or her. Now if there are very smart people in the company and they are not recognized by their boss in anyway, if they offer their best to the company, then this can mean that their boss is not a good one, but in no case a truly good boss would avoid to give more incentives to those who are more capable. Now because I think the question is a little bit tricky, then I admit that there are bosses who are not as smart as few of their staff members in every part of the world! If they fail to acknowledge their staff's special abilities then they are not good . If they still can inspire and delegate the authorities in the best possible way they can , smart people will be even more productive!!!

The good boss means that who always inspires his team & caring about them. moreover who well understandable person regarding the vision & mission of the company to bring their team to achieve corporate objective.

A good Boss is that one who make his members more and more smarter to improve their team work ,instead to inspire them with his qualities.
