DOF (Depth of Field) also known as a focus range in simple words. DOF is the distance between nearest and farthest object in the visual scene. It helps to show the depth of the photographic subject that how far it is or how near it is..
Hence, it prevents to look any image as a flat photo.
Depth of Field also known as focus range or effective focus range is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
In some of the clips, the subjects appear in the front of the picture and are quite clear while the depth of the picture is not clear and we may find the opposite in other clips so that the topics in the foreground are not clear while the subjects appear in the depth of the picture is clear, and in other clips we find all the topics in the foreground and in the middle and the end Clear-cut.
If we say that the picture is characterized by the depth of a wide area, the picture must be clear for the subjects in the front, middle and end of the picture completely.
If we say that the depth of the field is shallow, the subject on which the focus is focused is clear.

In layman's terms - what the camera 'sees' clearly. A lens can achieve focus in only one single point. So the depth of field is everything that appears clear around the ideal focus point.
DOP, Depth of the filed its the field ( space) between the nearest ponit and the farest point that will be nitid and focused.
Short DOP makes the background got blury and disappear all definition
Bigger DOP makes pictures more nitid and defined.
Its proporcionally inverse with Focal Distance.
