Customers desire quick, relevant answers and transactions that avoid repeated functions or information and are available to them through their preferred channel whenever it’s convenient. It’s also important that you can seamlessly transfer them to assisted service when necessary.

I would believe there are two factors, quality and customer services; customer should feel comfortable with self service system, and in friendly atmosphere. Must respect time of a customer spend, and always innovate to cut down service time. And services must be evaluated on qualitative scale to achieve highest customer satisfaction.
