What do you do if you presented a plan for growth to your manager and when implementation came, nothing went according to plan?

Well... general plan sometimes takes a while to implement sub plans ,that I take three months ( quarter).

BUT if mentioned plan does not apply at all so there is a problem and you need 

- Either to re discuss it with your manager and remember him how important it is for your organization growth.

- Or send it to higher level above your manager and do not forget to Cc'ing your manager to let him know that your plan was not a joke and you were serious when you made this plan

Note: to protect yourself attache the e-mail or any related written communications between you and your management , that will be a prove that you did your role with your direct manager before.

1.you should clearly show your vision of that plan to the manager.

2.you should him the benefit and importance of that plan

3.you let know that theadvantage is more than the disadvantage..

4.you let allow all those involve in the implementation of the plan to be active participants.

In short, planning was not done properly which may be in terms of  desired output, activities, sub activities, budget, assumption, and monitoring criteria.

Further, there may be something wrong in estimating demand, staffing requirement, baseline assumption. and finally unexpected changes in socio-political situation

A well developed plan should take into consideration all risks possible and how to tackle them, So maybe the failure was caused by the plan itself.

Also I have to implement the concept of progressive elaboration to trace and track the project step by step and not wait till it fails.

Failure of plan is the integral part of any project which needs to get covered under Risk management and must be planned in better ways than project execution plan.

It is really a good step for anyone to be initiative by presenting a plan for the growth.  As Business Growth is required and essential to develop any sector. But before arrange and prepare any plan need to consider all risks and percentage of the success and failure.

I think a new plan need to be followed-up and pursued constantly and very closely in the the preliminary stages of the execution process for the reviewing and evaluation in order to alter and take the corrective action in time.

The alternatives and tackles have to be available previously to reduce damages may arise during the execution process of the new business plan as adopting of a new alternative becomes  necessary in the failure case.

Any plan is set executable or not and it is possible to take the step and can be delayed
