Personnaly i've used both, Robot and SAP(Etabs is the buildings application of SAP) and every software has its own advatanges, but i want to look at other structural engineers experience with these softwares and see the problems they face with each software and the advantages the've noticed.
i am using ETABS and i prefer it
I am using ETABS only. But as I know Robot was more accurate in results but new versions of ETABS nowadays covered the previous defects of it.
I work with Etabs and SAP2000 tools for my design.
Right Now I am Using Etbas For Accurate result ...I feel Very Convenient when i use this software...and also i am aware about robot
I cant answer this question because I know Etab only and I dont know robot
Both have some advantages and disadvantages.the advantage of Robot is that we can design all the building on a single file and in one drawing ( Footing, Columns, Beams, Slabs etc..), while on Etabs we can design the frame only and the slab and footings on safe. in addition, since Robot is an Autodesk product, it's better when importing files from Revit. but on the other hand, Etabs is simpler than Robot so lesser chances of error while designing.
The software you are using depends on your countary. For example, if you are in UK, Robot, Masterseries and Tekla Structural Designer are popular. If you are in Asia, StaadPro, Sap2000, Etabs and Safe are popular. However, in USA RAM Structural and Sap2000 are widely used. In general, if you know one software you can learn all the others easily.
I know ETABS only and I don't know ROBOT
Would you like to get a robotic representation there? I call on Iran. See our website sadrarobot.com
Actually each of them has advantages over each other. I use Etabs for tall buildind wheras i use Robot structural analysis for slabs and beams
