Well, PMP certification is all about the tools and techniques you applied on a temporary endeavor (that is project), now how to apply effectively is the second thing and for this there should be two things within your pockets 1. the subject knowledge its process and 2. how and when to apply this subject knowledge in project.

to be more clear, if you are a pm for electrical sustation then you should know the activity sequence and the % of plan sharing then based on this criterea you will apply the PMP skills (T&T).

In my opinion or i can say as a data driven fact, a person shall be well aware of the core process in order to implement PMP skills succesfully
