== A Quality Circle is: volunteer group composed of members who meet to talk about workplace and service improvements and make presentations to their management with their ideas.
== Quality circle is nothing but a small group of employees who come together to discuss with the management issues related to either quality control or improvement in production methods form a Quality Control Circle (QCC).
== Those members are related especially to the quality of output or services in order to improve the performance of the organization / department and motivate and enrich the work of employees.
In other words, they usually work in the same areas, and voluntarily meet on a regular basis to identify, analyze and solve their problems.
== This group carries on continuously as a part of organization-wide control activities, self and mutual developments and control and improvement within the workplace utilizing quality control techniques with all the members participating.
== Generally6 –12 volunteers from the same work area make up a circle.
The members receive training in problem solving, statistical quality control, group processes and analysis techniques in order to play their role effectively.
== The Membership of a Quality Circle is voluntary, and Circle members should meet regularly - ideally once a week - in particular place, also in particular time.
Those members select a name for their circle in the first meeting and elect a leader to conduct the meetings.
== Circle works on a systematic basis to identify and solve work – related problems for improving quality and productivity not just discussing them.
The management must: •Ensure that solutions are implemented quickly once they have been accepted.
•Give appropriate and proper recognition to solution.
== Quality Circle generally recommends solutions for quality and services which may be implemented by the management.
Thus Quality Circle is not merely a suggestion system or a quality control group but extends beyond that because its activities are more comprehensive.
== Furthermore, it is not a task force because it can be made a permanent feature of the organization or a department.
Objectives of Quality Circle in any organization == It is said that95% of the problems in workshops can be solved through quality control tools.
The Japanese have experienced this from the early of1950s! == Quality Circles are not only limited to manufacturing firms but for variety of organizations where there is a scope for group based solution of work related problems.
If lucratively implemented in the field of Library and Information Science the results and conclusions will not only be amazing but it will also help us to stumble on out our own lacunae and design a better system.
1- To improve the quality of products and services as well as productivity.
2- To improve the competence, as one of all organizations goals.
3- To reduce cost and redundant efforts in the long run, reduce the cost of products or services by waste reduction, safety, effective utilization of resources, avoiding unnecessary errors and defects.
4- To identify and solve work-related problems and interfere with production as a team.
5- With improved efficiency, the lead time on convene of information and its subassemblies is reduced, resulting in an improvement in meeting customers due dates.
6- Customer satisfaction is the fundamental goal of any library.
It will ultimately be achieved by Quality Circle and will also help to be competitive for a long time.
7- The perception of Quality Circles today is ‘Appropriateness for use’ and the tactic implemented is to avert imperfections in services rather than verification and elimination.
8- Hence the attitudes of employees influence the quality.
It encourages employee participation as well as promotes teamwork.
9- Q Circle satisfies the human needs of recognition, achievement and self-development.1
0- Quality Circle motivates people to contribute towards organizational effectiveness through group processes.1

This can be applied by tapping the creative intelligence of people working in the organization, and making full use of human resources.1
4- Q Circle aims to respect humanity and to build a happy, bright, and meaningful workplace worthwhile to work.1
5- To improve employees loyalty and commitment to the organization and its goals.

The benefits of introducing a quality control circle program in the work place are many: a- Heightened quality awareness reveals faults in the system that might obstruct good practices.
b- It improves the quality of your firm’s products and services, thereby increasing the value of your brand, and securing your customers’ confidence.
The quality of customer relationship management can be further enhanced by using help desk software from the likes of pro software.
c- Q circle members will feel a sense of ownership for the project.
Higher yields and lower rejection rates also result in enhanced job satisfaction for workers, which in turn drives them to contribute more.
d- A quality control circle program also brings about improved two-way communication between the staff and the management.
e- Finally, the financial benefits will certainly exceed the costs of implementing the program.
A study revealed that some companies improved their savings tenfold!

Quality Circles are (informal) groups of employees who voluntarily meet together on a regular basis to identify, define, analyze and solve work related problems.
Usually the members of a particular team (quality circle) should be from the same work area or who do similar work so that the problems they select will be familiar to all of them.
In addition, interdepartmental or cross functional quality circles may also be formed.
An ideal size of quality circle is seven to eight members.
But the number of members in a quality circle can vary.

It is a group composed from a number of trained employees from different Dept.
in organization, They meet regulary to analyze any work problem issued or to improve any process needed, they come out with a corrective action required to solve the problem or with ideas for improving , and they present their solutions/ ideas to management.
It is very important to have a formal quality circle groups in organization to maintain work flow and to continuously improve process.
