I think it will improve the quality because at some organizations, repacking is one of the important business activities during day to day warehouse operations. Physical Inspection is performed and the materials which satisfied quality standards are sent to repacking zone for repacking. Packaging materials are already identified and they are arranged in specific sizes for e.g. Carton of 60 X 60 inches sizes are arranged to store 4 materials of 15X15 size. These packaging materials once packed are kept on specific area

Of course, repacking will improve the quality of warehouse management as non-moving inventory takes up valuable warehouse space and ties up capital.

Repacking is one of the creative ways to clear your shelf space and pile up some revenue in the process by bundle with fast moving items or bundle only non-moving items.

Prior to this activity ensure effective marketing plan is placed that makes the deal success.

Repacking or re-arranging ex-stock will certainly improve efficiency in warehouse management.

Why?

Planning your warehouse to provide for easy access to fast moving stock will definitely improve on time and cost management. The non-moving stock can be stored in a separate area (farthest end of the warehouse) where they can be accessed if and when needed.

Plan your warehouse in such a way that the fast moving stock will be on the very front racks then followed by the average moving and finally the non-moving items. It's kind like arranging your stock in an ABC system.

The cost of moving the items will definitely be improved when the fast moving items are easily accessed as a result of grouping them in an area whose proximity is closer to the handlers. Less fuel will be used when moving these items, say from stacks to the dispatch area as they will be near. Also, less time will be spent trying to sort them since they have been stored in areas that have been marked/labeled and that they are not mixed up with the non-moving parts.

In conclusion, it's very beneficial to repack them as this will considerably improve the time and handling costs.

All the inventory in the warehouse shoould be properly packed and stored. Anything that looks sloppy reflects on the condition of the warehouse. So it is paramount for the management to eliminate this condition.

All inventory should be accounted for in the first place. Then it should be segregated according to like items. Then they should be properly packed, if not then repacked to maintain it in better condition. If you take care of the warehouse, then warehouse will take care of you. If you know what I mean.
