It owuld be difficult manage a manager - it would depend on your role - He may be able to offer you more than you reaslise, in his experience and knowledge in what works and what doesn't. But if you have something new to offer, offer it to him, and him choose.
When joining a company, it always seems that for you as a newcommer that things are not working as they are supposed to and that things can be improved. The first focus of an employee especially in the first 3-6 months is not to try to improve but to try to learn and see the issue from the other side and if by the end of that period, after the employee has learned all that is to learn about the company from the basic and simple things to the complicated procedures, and still has complaints, questions, and or ideas to improve things around then he must approach the manger in closed door and suggest what he as to suggest, speak his mind, and try to get through.
