If you are referring it in business terms on how it affects the Agenda then it can help you give you a better advantage to complete your goal, that can be closing a sale, negotiating or achieving greater pro activity. A lot of issues are raised and solutions are found with the process that can give you a better understanding of how things work and prepare you better for what is to come. The word Macro Agenda is also used in many different ways and it can change depending on where it is used like World Economy

I think its more related to broad thinking and tries to be prepared. if I would go into a negotiation with preparation prepared for anticipated question then I would have more power to give a better answer.
