There's a popular theory called the Helsinki Bus Theory. According to this, your job trajectory is that of a bus station at the start where you have many routes and options to choose from, depending on your area of work. You start your journey in a job and then carry on with it for a few stops, before you decide to shift when you get bored of your current profile. This could be the best thing for you or the worst.A bus connects you from bus station to bus station. You can choose to reach the next bus station and change over to a bus that eventually leads you to your destination, or get down out of boredom and just try and start afresh at the bottom of the organisational pyramid. Instead of jumping jobs at a point in your career where the opportunity presented to you makes you start off anew, wait for the right opportunity that will give you a chance at lateral growth and take you higher up the organisational hierarchy. Don't just switch, jump up when the time and opportunity is right!
