Basically the deal is the same as in the Nordics due to snow and ice - i.e. clean them up (with dedicated cleaning units), and build protective surfaces/barriers in the particularily exposed areas.

For ice and snow it is much easier to the prevent blocking of railway turnouts ;

for exampleeven more effective : in theSecond World War British motorcycles could not work in the desert ( it'shistory ) , the Italian and German instead never stopped .

Hi;

There is only periodic maintenance,

There is an other phenomenon, sand deposit can be solid after raining ...in this case we need strong washing of components and mobilized pieces.
