it depend on your goals , if the only goal is recognition then you have to leave , if you have better opportunity then leave , if not you have to stay and do your best

Keep going and enjoy the success feeling which is better than any thing while you get paid, I understand the importance of recognition, but believe me it will come automatically, although it may delay.

Depends on where you personally stand on this, if you are someone that cannot afford to quit the current job or feel there are no better opportunities than your current engagement in monetary values then you will tend to stick to your current engagement, however, there are many people who live very fast paced lives or the ones that can are more financially stable and to them being recognized is very important, such individuals usually seek out other opportunities and are not afraid to ask in the next interview about the company' policy regarding the recognition and/or reward for great performance.

Well, to answer your question, of course, will continue to work since I love the job I am doing and I don't care if the current organisation doesn't reward or recognise my efforts. With time I will be rewarded somewhere else if I have the capability to produce results and deliver up to the satisfaction of the stakeholders.

Simply, you can get the answer from Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. The original hierarchy of needs five-stage model includes:

1. Biological and Physiological needs - air, food, drink, shelter, warmth, sex, sleep.

2. Safety needs - protection from elements, security, order, law, stability, freedom from fear.

3. Love and belongingness needs - friendship, intimacy, trust and acceptance, receiving and giving affection and love. Affiliating, being part of a group (family, friends, work).

4. Esteem needs - achievement, mastery, independence, status, dominance, prestige, self-respect, respect from others.

5. Self-Actualization needs - realizing personal potential, self-fulfillment, seeking personal growth and peak experiences.

So at which stage recognition  is mentioned? 4th or 5th? I think the answer is clear.

Sorry and thanks

Everybody is looking for credit yet it is not the most thing we look for.  Try to enjoy your work and prove that you are doing a great job.  Managements change and one day you will have someone who would come to you and say well done for what you have achieved.

If my teams or direct reports were getting all the praise and recognition they deserve, that for me is enough to know that I'm succeeding and the reward is to lead individuals and create leaders who stay within the business.

Choice is left to the individual.

If a person loves the job , he / she will continue in the job whether the person gets credit / appreciation / salary or not. For the person concerned only about the payment / salary , credit or recognition do not matter much.

For those who are sensitive about credit & recognition , a good salary might not make them stay in their job even though they love the job they are doing.

If I love my work and I am doing it well and getting paid as well on time then I dont think there is any need of quitting. If they are paying me well then its obvious that they already know my worth, they just dont want to appreciate that due to some reasons, but in a long run it is somehow gonna get some appreciation and recognition, directly or indirectly.
