To clarify, Both the programs are Autodesk products, AutoCad helps in giving the flexibility in the design stage as well as being user friendly ( Can be used in various fields of engineering ) where as Revit is more of a coordinated program that aids in the whole construction phases and time saving

Revit is a BIM software ( Building Information Modeling ) that means in every element you model , it has its own unique information, ( lets say youre modeling a column when you define that it shows all the information of that model from type, size, dimensions, area, volume and etc..) plus the big advantage of revit is its 3d abilities where you can see your model in any angel in any place you want, plus the trade coordination between other trades it helps detect the clashes before construction

I am used to Autocad but also I would want to explore about revit and experience the advantages of using it at work.

AutoCAD is the original designing software. It is friendly using and great for 2D. Revit is a new and better in 3D.

AutoCAD is  for 2D drawing, where only precise line work is needed, such as elevation detail drawings. Revit is great for modeling, generating cost schedules, collaboration and change management. In the industry of design and construction, competition is fierce.i prefere Autocad becouse its the basic one . and used by every one .

I always prefer Autocad, the works done in Autocad gives us more exposure where every detailing should be done manually, whereas Revit makes us lazy by providing all the basic drawing details and thus makes the exposure to the field becomes less.

Autocad and Revit are basically both platforms of Autodesk. Autocad gives a 2D plan whereas the Revit gives 3D or much better than that, whcih can be used to co-ordinate all the services like MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plimbing) with the Civil (Architectural and Interior) which inturn solves all the problems for the better execution of work.

Revit is BIM(Building Interface Modelling) which is mainly used for modelling.

I prefer Autocad for 2d works such as plan, line diagrmas.

While I use Revit For 3d designs.

Auto Cad is a Drafting tool where we can draft and list out the details and it is keybase  to design in Revit Architecture and further procdures like shop drawing
