1- Ensuring adequate product/service knowledge as well as market and competition
2- Existence of selling skills relating to info gathering, negotiation, deal closing and customer service
3- Setting a challenging traget based on experience level
4- Performance monitoring including detailed analysis of lost sales
5- Rewarding achievment
To manage a Sales Team towards success
1. Build a team with best talents available in sales sector
2. Give them freedom to work and allow them to take some decision
3. forecast and set a clear goal / target
4. Standard training & supportive tools to achieve targets
5. encourage go & get for maximize performance and minimize conflicts
6. Analysis , review , discussion and sometime fun

- numerical reachable target should be set.
- motivation should be applied on real achievements.

As a manager, it is your responsibility to create an environment that encourages confidence and success.
You cannot simply provide a pleasant physical environment – you need to make sure that the social setting is positive too.
Do this by celebrating employee achievements, showing appreciation for your salespeople regularly, offering flexible scheduling and/or incentives and organizing regular events and competitions that keep your salespeople engaged and excited about coming to work.
Well, you need to consider 2 things, First, you need to Lead your sales team instead of managing them. Second, You need to justify for them, their shared interests if they achieve their sales targets. Your team needs to understand and believe. Of course, there are plenty of other professional activities such as monitoring your team for their daily performance through the set KPIs and etc...
