Thanks for invitation,
Yes of course, there are limitation related to to "type" and "timing" otherwise, it will be the main reason for many work's conflict.
A joke or jokes are welcome in a company. If it shared within a group of staff sharing the joke during a break coffee and snack and with good humour then it is acceptable.
If it brings hurt to any of the staff around intentionally or not, it has to stop there. Boundaries apply to jokes or speaking in your own language as others feel left out.
It becomes inverse and negative when the person is affected by it has serious problems with the joke, performance is affected overall and life for the person becomes suicidal.
Groups must understand everything within boundaries are great and the company accepts it as well.
Humour is one of the soft skills which is expected from any professional but at the same time some other conducts are also expected from an employee including professionalism & follow up the code of conduct of the company. The jokes can be accepoted but to an extent that they should not outrage the modesty of an induvudial or company ethics. If this occurs ,surely it will have negative impacts.
Employees must be serious in work activities and no joking in work place but smiles and happiness is work environment that should presented
sence of humor and joking are good but may lead to bad impact in long run
Yes ofcourse as my colleague @omar has said.
Sense of humor is good but as you know too much of any good thing is a bad thing.
It will becomce negative when its over done, Staff and others will not take you serious anymore and consider you as a joke.
Now joking is nice from time to time because even a boss who has a bit of sense of humor will be more favored by his employees
Thanks
Yes, there are limits, and should be stopped when it goes beyond the limits of morality
Dear Nadjib Rabahi thank you for the invitation to share my opinion. The joking part as you call it has two ways of being made. Either during work or during a break. I will tell you what I believe for both. In cases that opening can start up a conversation with a client or in a business meeting some use of humor is not bad, as long as it targets no one around and it is tasteful. Many communications can start easier with a slight joke and the limit to that would be not to make fun of anyone in particular and not continue this for long and create the feeling that the conversation itself is not as serious as it should.
Now in the case of work breaks jokes can be and should be used if they create a happier and more satisfactory environment between colleagues.
I personally like the use of smart humor and seek the balance of any communication without touching the two ends! Not to serious and not too humorous! Everything in between should be allowed as a matter of fact in the daily tasks.
Yes there must be. Jokes are the part of your work place but these should not hit anyone directly. Light jokes make the environment less stressful.
