As a graphic designer / Art Director should you be good at drawing?
It is a bit of a joke that you don't need to be able to draw to be a graphic designer. Long ago it was required as work was done by hand but now, as all work is rendered digitally, it is not required. But, a good graphic designer - as opposed to an ok one - will have drawing skills and be able to sketch out concepts and ideas easily and fluidly by hand. The creative impulse is innate and the best ideas are often spontaneous.
I used my drawing skills for quick layout plan, visualization in meeting so I can communicate well with other colleagues and clients, animation proposal etc. These are major hit for the Creative Graphic Designer nowadays. And I must say it's a plus but not all Graphic Designers are focusing on this skill so NO not all are good in drawing.
Most graphic designers are creative since most of the softwares that are used nowadays are based on an empty interface. But you don't have to be an artist to do some graphic designing since most of the illustrations are done digitally.
Not really but its mandatory being designer,
Not all of them are good at Drawing. It is an additional skill for them. and if they have that its awsom
Most of them, but not a must in my opinion it's an added skill.
