Throughout my career I have encountered both effective and ineffective leaders. The common trait amongst those who demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, is the rare but valuable trait known as, empathy. While education and experience may rank high, it in no way speaks to an individual's capacity to communicate understanding by placing oneself in another person's position.
