Whats the first step do you take in troubleshooting why a machined does not work.?

For and foremost you must check the powersupply. See if the machine is plugged before you wonder off trying to fix and continue disassembling it to find the problem. Most common mistake I have noticed everyon does.

First check the power supply, it's connections,fuses.

Machines needs power source. You have to start if there is sufficient 'fuel' to energize the system. If there is then continue working and check for the obvious first.

First thing is power Supply or source of power than will check orther stuff.

Check power supply, check messages indicating errors, then check the manual, or online support/ youtube,  

You must first check the power cable and push button or switch on and off . Power supply not working or shortage.

Elaborate more on the power button on the Machine to see wether it is properly turned on

First step is check the power plug of the machine if ok check the power supply if ok the last is check the supply how many volts if volts is ok the problem is the machine..

My first step would be understanding the machine.

First check for the availability of electricity from the main to the system.
