Bill of lading issued by the Shipping companies and multimodal issue by transport / logistics companies for combined transport is another name of the multimodal bill of lading.

 Multimodal bill of lading can be used in two modes like ship to rail , ship to bus etc.Bill of lading can be used only for port to port sea shipment.
