The major challenges I faced and how I handled them as a Team leader were
1. Communication gap - I handled by conducting periodic team meetings, explaining what was expected.
2. Criticism - I handled by delivering what was expected out of me/team, and not reacting to peers verbally.
3. Disciplinary issues - I handled them by Chanakya style, sama, beda, Dana and Dand.

Bringing every one on the same platform is the biggest challage which i face as a team leader, and for this i usually go for a team meeting on weakly basis and discussing the team objective and giving clarity to each one of them about their role in that particular objective.
Thanks to invite.
As a team leader I always given preference to provide mental satisfaction of my all team members by counselling / meetings with provision of necessary professional and limited personal social needs, to remove their worries and I got very impressive response all the time to meet the target with willingness of my team members.
Whenever your team members become mentaly satisfied they definitely focus towards the achievement.
when people manipulate the policies, and take things personally, you have to be assertive when it comes to disiplinary action.
Fear of change.People mostly do afraid of change. New things, policies or rules. we can avoid it by making the part of decisions and also helping them adopt change by trainings and brain storming.
It depends on what each individual view as a challenge and what they view as part of the job role?
Invariably, the most consistent challenges I have faced at all levels are two-fold, Team Dynamics and Company Objective.
Team Dynamics is a constant variable, an ever-evolving challenge of varying individuals with varying needs. Even in this fast paced and technical world we now live in, Human input will always remain one of the most valuable assets a business will retain. I don't believe there is always a right and wrong approach to human behaviour issues within high pressured environments, but there should always be a moral and procedural approach to all your colleagues that is fair and consistent.
Company Objective should normally be a clear and concise directive, and if so, there should be no room for any ambiguity. The challenges here normally surround the core issue of what is realistic and achievable. In the event of any undue pressure in relation to an unrealistic requirement always raise the issue in a constructive manner and with solid backing data to support your concerns. Drill down the requirements that will be needed to achieve the company objectives and all the associated metrics. Focus on maximising these and report all shortfalls in regular and efficient manner. Be proactive and own the issue.
The major challenge with respect of team is being on track all the time and keep them on the planned way to acheive the tasks in time.
The human factor is the most important so be careful and focus on the objective way.
Being younger than your team through age and experience is quite a challenge. But as long as you show them respect, understanding and leadership to your colleagues, they will also show the same way as you did to them
