The qualities that a BDM should posses is:

·         Conceptualizing & implementing company’s plans/ policies and ensuring accomplishment of business goals across the assigned regions.

·         Building four pillars of brand management into the positioning and belief of the business – Planning, Reach and Execution & Measurability.

·         Skillfully maintaining timely database reflecting the trends & developments of the company regarding sales and business development. Rolling out aggressive promotional campaign at the local level to enhance visibility and drive more sales.

·         Conducting detailed market survey and feasibility study to analyze the latest market trends and tracking the competitor’s activities thereby providing valuable inputs to streamline the marketing strategies.

5) Contracts - Should know the basic legal terms and able to identify red flags within T & C's.,policies and legal documents.

Suggest a hypothetical business situation and ask the candidate to think aloud as to how he/she intends to go about it. Obviously, there would not be enough time to think through the situation well during the interview, but it should be clear from the candidate’s thinking how well-rounded and experienced he/she is.
