There are different ways in which the employees can be engaged positively. If an employee is not engaged positively HE/SHE may be engaged in gossip and other non productive activities. As goes the saying “AN IDLE MIND IS A DEVILS WORKSHOP”. An employee may be encouraged to do some creative things for the work being done. May be making it more effective or visible to the people who matter most. And there should be reward and recognition for being positively engaged and creative. It would also bring out the hidden talent among the employee .

Interaction and empathy can be very handy tools to make the work environment more comfortable for your employees. For most of us who haven't immediately started out on our own, we've made our way through the ranks. We know what's expected and learn from our mistakes. With empathy we should able to give the ones working their way through, the same benefits we did receive or in some cases, ought to have received. Respect is earned and I in leadership role I have been placed in I have tried to ensure that my teams have respect for me not because of my position alone, but because of who I am. But one must also learn where to draw the line.
Interaction with employees also gives them the feeling that their thoughts and ideas are taken into consideration and matter. This will also ensure that they feel good about themselves which in turn will work wonders for morale which always enriches production of work.

1. Relationship with immediate supervisor.2. Belief in senior leadership.3. Pride in working for the company.

I always put my self in your Question , by sequence i only find1 answer , how my company always try to make my needs come ture ,( But i MUST first give my company my all eforts i can do it either in the working times or even in my home working to reach up the ideal goals i can make it come ture ).
The key to employee engagement is creating the basic conditions for a motivated team, Motivation is an engagement sport. You have to deal with people , not paper, to motivate humans.
