Mr Amin has raised a very practical issue not only for civil engineer but also for engineering community as a whole. After Graduation it is the dilema of an engineer to choose between joining secure Government service and remain contented with a fixed income and or go for a private sector organisation to gain experience and personal worth. In the second scenario the service is not secure but in financial terms their are higher returns.
Accordingly the family life is governed by the decision of joining Government Service or private sector service. As a Government employee you enjoy status, authority, perks & previlages and above all time to enjoy with your family, proper attention to your children.
In private sector service you are a money minting machine with higher attention to become wealthy having no or little time for your family and children except the holidays.
In this situation one has to plan his life so that one has enough financial resources as well as sufficient time for family life.I think after graduation when a person is in age bracket of22-24 years he should go for a private sector service. After gaining an experience of8 ~9 years one can attempt to join government service.Marriage at this stage could be beneficial as aperson is matured enough to develop understanding with his better half and enjoy the rest of life in a very settled manner enoying the authority at office and at home.
This is my philosopy and every person has the right to differ from depending on social, cultural environments. This may also not be applicable to businessmen.
