Creative thinking is a drive towards innovation which is the brain behind the economic proposperity of an organisation. It hence becomes imperative. Creative thinking could be encourage with in team members through suggestion box, suggestion schemes, brainstorming sessions, workshops, conferences training on contemporary best practices. With all the above provision, employees should be empowered to work independently with little or without interference.

Empowerment is number one.  With Empowerment i guess, employees come out of their cocoons and start applying their thoughts and ideas because they know that they CAN and its ok to do that.  A lot of times employees are not empowered and stiffled and not allowed to change things or come up with their own ideas etc to their managers which strangulates their ideas adn creativity

Secondly, informal chats over coffee or near the copier or a break room or after work, helps.  The work culture in the company shoudl be such that employees feel free to come up with suggestions and ideas and bring them forward using an establised communication channel.

What is more important is that the receiver should be a neutral person so it reaches where it should reach and is read at the least if not implemented and the person is thanked in some way.  this will promote a positive creative culture at work to encourage and stimulate creativity.  i have done this and it works wonders.  People have such ideas !!!

First be gentle with your team mates so that in your presence rather of using their mind in thinking how to control themselves for discipline. Be their freind as the leader so that they can discuss their ideas freely with you and appreciate their ideas even if ideas aint match so that they can come up with the best other day......

I would personally prefer to propose my very own ideas to showcase the rest what  limit of creativity is needed to reach the desired context, objective.

Then ideas are supposed to exponentially be proposed in a limited amount of content which will facilitate the process for the employees as they know from and till where they can brainstorm

Appreciate their work and let them know that I am trusting them
