I worked with all building design and analysis software.

Software like

1- etbes

1-Stad.Pro

4. Robot

5- ...

But software, in my opinion, is not important at all, but it is the intellectual strategy within the civil engineer that matters.

However, etabs software is very simple and easy to use. Simple toolbars make the design process very straightforward.

But if we make simple judgments on the number of users, we will find that the Stad  software has more users.

It also accepts more offers in places like LinkedIn.

Relative to their Analyses & Designs Applications and Capabilities,

ETABS would be more suited for Buildings Structural Frame Systems, particularly for MRF RCC High Rise Buildings,

and STAAD could be more suited for General Purpose Structural Frame Systems, of which it is more adept for Plants Structural Framing Systems - i.e. Structural Steel Frames of Hydrocarbons & Heavy Industries Plants, Composite Framing Systems International Airports, etc.

In terms of economic implications of the resulted designs outputs of both Software, I may opine that ETABS is more of a direct approach and STAAD could be more of complex situations of the Designs Processes Applications, however, to get the economical sizes of members, it is a common practice to let the Spread Sheets design the members out from the resulted stresses & reactions from the Analyses.

It is a relative question. For vertical concrete members, ETABS is the best option. For steel frames, Staad Pro. For horizondal members, SAFE is good. However, for all design, a logical thinking also follows the design.

ETABS IS GOOD & TO GET MOST ECONOMICAL DESIGN PARTICULARLY FOR  HIGH RISE RC STRUCTURES.  STAAD PRO IS GOOD FOR ANALYSIS & DESIGN OF STEEL STRUCTURES AND OTHER LOW RISE RCC STRUCTURES.

STAAD IS THE BETTER ONE BECAUSE IT IS FOR ALL KINDS OF STRUCTURE BUT ETABS IS A SPECIAL SOFTWARE FOR DESIGNING BULDINGS .

Etabs is a better structural software

StaadPRO is a better software when it comes to analysis and design of steel structures. there if flexibility in loading system and combinations but for reinforced concrete ETABS is more efficient and economic for use .

staad pro is best u can get report clearly for every beam and can identify mistake and correct it easily.etabs is used as finite element soft ware.

ETABS is good over staad pro if you are designing a reinforced concrete structure. The user interface is easy and the analysis values of RC structures are better and we get economical steel data from etabs compared to that of staad pro
