To my mind both of these approaches have merits, individual training can help boost an individual's confidence, experience and effectiveness as an individual which would still benefit the team as a whole. This is also part of the persons personal development which is important to the person moral and self worth.Team training is particularly useful to gain coherence build trust and understanding, it can help the weaker (perhaps less experienced) and is particularly useful for all round team building and on the job training. It can help provide a structured and succinct message/goal.
Group training as a matter of fact would be more effective considering the energy, ideas and question’s each individual would add, plus it cost less than individual training, however it all depends on how big is the group and what is the objective of the training.
Individual training would be a very good idea when we talk about developing specific skills on specific person, considering personality and interaction style of the individuals.
Training objective is dependent on purpose and type of training. The answer is based on objective of training.
I prefer group training. It gives participants the chance to exchange ideas and reflect on their experience. It also helps when role-playing.
