In my hamble opinion Creating relationship and maintains it with customers is more important as it drives you automatically to insure achieving the target through your networks and and references that you will be making from gaining the trust of your customers and they will be using all the channels to recommend you and your product for referrals and prospects.

To reach your target, you must first build a relationship of trust with the clientele. So in doing a sales process, it is more important creating a relationship with the client than achieving your target. 

By making your sales process you need to focus a lot more on the customer while setting your target
